About Me

I’m a freelance writer, teacher, musician, teacher-trainer, and general all-round cheerleader for continued learning – all ages, all levels, I’m not fussy.

Although I’m American, I’ve lived in many foreign countries in my life, including NOW.  I’m married to an amazing Brit.  The recipes here include both American and European measurements.  As I’m living in the UK, the spelling will be British.  Hope the Americans can guess what the words are!

There’s more to say,  but the essentials will reveal themselves in the stories that go with the recipes.  For now, it’s only important to know that it’s a joy to cook, and a delight to bring people together.

  1. Love your blog Judy and very impressed to hear you taking the ‘bull by the horns’ technologically speaking! I’ve been so impressed that I am currently in the process of attempting the recipe for the chickpea and spinach soup as it sounds wonderful! And I’ll certainly be trying the others just as soon as I have the ingredients. It’s good to know I’m not the only person who finds food fascinating and I love the way it brings people together. Keep up the good work Judy. I for one, will be a dedicated follower!

    1. Hello, Mary, just discovered the COMMENTS heading in the new blog format, and lo and behold, there you were. Hope all is well with you. John delighted in the birthday card — thank you for that, too! I think I’ll save your comment for dark days, and be grateful for friends like you — as always,

  2. Judy, I just found this blog thanks to Edith who was in my class of ’60 at Woodstock. My memories are distant but it is always fun to renew acquaintances . Your stories are refreshing and a joy to read and yes, bring back memories. I look forward to reading more and trying some recipes. I have a huge collection myself and try new ones several times a week. What a wonderful world our Woodstock community opens up for us

  3. Judy, What a brilliant way of bringing people together around food; universal symbol and substance of hospitality and family. Your communication skills are equally prodigious. You know how to write with clarity, substance, candor, and humor… a gift which is rare and sweet indeed. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to following wherever you might lead. THANK YOU! Willie
